Benlize Lodge – where the views alone are well worth the visit!
Our rustic lodge is nestled on top of a hill with beautiful views over Hartbeespoort Dam and Magaliesburg Mountain range, 45 km from Johannesburg and Pretoria and 7 km from Pecanwood Golf & Country Club.
There are 5 self-catering units and 3 smaller studio rooms, all with their own unique style and equipped with cutlery and linen. Mostly stone and thatched-roof units that have 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms and feature free Wi-Fi, DSTV, kitchens/kitchenettes and braai areas.
The lodge has a function area, and the Buena Vista Mountain bar is fully licensed. Other amenities include an outdoor pool, kids play area and a firepit.
Hartbeespoort Dam is surrounded by the majestic Magaliesberg Mountain range, and is very popular for outdoor and water sport activities.
Our Story
Benlize Lodge is a family-owned and managed lodge established in 1997. The quaint and rustic lodge is perched high up above Hartbeespoort Dam in the North West Province, about 45min drive from Gauteng.
There are 5 self-catering units and 3 smaller studio rooms, catering for all your needs. Fully equipped kitchen, linen and towels. The units are also fitted with free wi-fi, tvs, hotel bouquet DSTV and a patio with a braai area. In total the lodge can accommodate 30 people in the various units. There is a children’s play area and a pool and tons of nature and water activities in the area.
The family has grown since then and now there is a team that will support you during your booking and stay on the lodge.
Buena Vista Mountain Bar and Lapa
Buena Vista Mountain Bar and Lapa is the perfect venue for birthdays, small weddings and any all types of function. Glassware and cutlery for between 30 and 40 people. Catering for events can also be arrange and there are various function specials on offer during the year.
Whether you’re looking for a wine or gin tasting, or an outdoor adventure, you will definitely find something among all the activities in the area to suit your style. From hiking to white-water river rafting trips, or hot air ballooning during sunrise, the North West has something for everyone.
